SCOEL was set up in 1995 to advise the Commission on occupational exposure limits for chemicals in the workplace.
Its mission is to provide the Commission with scientific recommendations and opinions on a range of priority chemicals, which the Commission uses to develop policies on workers’ health protection.
The members of SCOEL are highly qualified, specialized and independent scientific experts in different areas related to occupational chemical risks. They are appointed in their personal capacity.
In line with the Commission’s rules on expert groups and with the new decision setting up SCOEL adopted earlier this year, this call for expression of interest launches a new selection procedure of the Committee members, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities for highly qualified and specialised scientific experts.
How to apply
Applications from interested candidates can be submitted online until 15/12/2014. Only properly completed online applications will be considered.
Applicants are strongly advised not to wait until the last few days before the deadline since heavy internet traffic or a problem with internet connections could otherwise lead to applicants not being able to submit the application on time. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline has expired.
