The European Parliament approved the new European Commission. The new Commissioner for the Regional policy is Corina Cretu

The Parliament approved the new European Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker. The new Commission starts its five-year term on 1 November.

The Parliament approved the new European Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker on 22 October, after he presented his college and its working programme for the next five years. As part of European Commission election process, all candidate commissioners had been questioned by MEPs to assess if they were suitable for the job.

With 423 votes in favour, 209 against and 67 abstentions the EP approved the European Commission, after Juncker presented his team of commissioners and discussed the incoming Commission's working programme with MEPs. The new Commission starts its five-year term on 1 November.
